Israel 1995:
Five weeks as independent photojournalist covering breaking news in Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem and Israel.

Armenia 1994: Five weeks as independent consultant to BARS Media, an autonomous documentary news agency. Provided guidance in development of public relations materials, computer networking, image scanning, video editing, photo portfolio development, layout, and design concepts. Additional guidance given in development of Armenian UNICEF publication, published as insert in Armenian newspapers.

Israel 1992: Five months as independent consultant to The Arab Development Association of the Golan Heights and to The Arab Human Rights Association of Israel, in Nazareth. Planned, photographed, and edited slide programs and portfolios to support public relations goals. Published stories and photographs in American Middle East and Israeli magazines.

Egypt 1992: Four weeks, Alexandria to Aswan for portfolio development.

Costa Rica 1990: Five weeks. Lived with Costa Rican family, traveled and photographed extensively.

Scotland 1988: Five weeks for university photojournalism study.

Italy 1987: Five weeks for art history course content and slide portfolio development.
