• • • Artist Statement • • • These three pieces, Lana #2, Botanica, and Fragment are part of a series of mixed media prints which are "urban botanicals." In the tradition of observation and recording of forms in our natural environment, this work is about our natural selves, symbolized by the images of the plant forms, in the process of being absorbed and altered by our "mechanical" environment. These forms, either in the process of dissolving or in the process of being formed, are metaphors of the relationship between nature and technology.
