Lumen™ is a speculative design concept for a future food technology that incorporates bioluminescence. The idea comes from current technologies in bio-hacking that are already harnessing bioluminescent technology in plants. This piece is an advertisement for an imagined future product that makes explicit use of genetic modification. The potential safety and environmental impacts of such an invention are left ambiguous.
